“Kaspar Is Sitting” is an on-going photo series depicting my partner using a computer. His on the computer constantly, for hours on end. I watch him through my middle-format camera. Since the subject of my interest is completely submerged in his own world, he does not notice me. I have a choice of several angles and finally I press the button – the camera is noisy, but I am still unnoticed.
“Kaspar Is Sitting” means coming to terms with a situation where technology plays an increasingly dominant role in our everyday lives and makes my loved one unavailable to me leaving me alone with a physical body which barely reacts.
A brochure designed by Maria Muuk was published during the time the project was exhibited
